The Payments FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) team is a key partner and enabler of the Payments organization managing ~$10B in transaction expenses. The team is responsible for helping the business partners meet key objectives and KPI goals by providing outstanding finance support and business insights.
The analyst will be responsible for vendor billing reconciliation and management reporting to help day-to-day business decisions. This role will work closely with business partners to support month end close and contract negotiations, and require both high technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities, motivation, and exceptional attention to detail.
Support the analytical needs of the Finance team and executive leadership, including building vendor billing reconciliation models, monthly TE dashboard, management reporting, and predictive modeling for PayPal Inc global transaction expense metrics across different entities
Monitor key performance indicators, highlight trend changes and underline reasons, and identify potential risks before they manifest
Track and monitor monthly processing partner charges in conjunction with ecosystem changes, and manage reconciliation models between vendor charge and business trends to identify potential billing issues
Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, and support process automation
Ensure accuracy of key operating metrics before they are released both internally and externally
Educational background with emphasis in quantitative fields such as math, statistics, economics, finance, engineering, and computer science
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in quantitative field (e.g. business analytics, data science, management consulting, banking, etc.)
Experience working within and structuring very large data warehouses (i.e., Teradata)
Proficiency in SQL. Experience with R or Python
Proficiency in Excel and VBA experience a plus but not prerequisite
Experience creating data visualizations in Tableau or other modern visualization tools
Deep analytical skills, strong out-of-the-box thinking, curiosity, and strong business intuition; can connect the dots between disparate data sources to drive insight
Proven track record of defining and executing key analyses with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability in preparing effective presentations (PowerPoint) with clear explanations of business implications to executives
