Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
We are looking for an innovative and talented engineering manager to join our GTM Engineering team. This kick-ass team is looking for an experienced leader to help us build for the future. You’ll contribute to the team/portfolio direction and be responsible for building a long-lasting and balanced engineering team.
You will drive development in close collaboration with the product and design partners and will be accountable for technical strategy as well as alignment with other technology and platform teams. In this role you will also be expected to be hands-on, working in a small startup of 10-15 people with the expectation to grow to two or three times its current size. The team needs a leader who is a multiplier with excellent execution skills. In this role you will be responsible for scaling the team, technology, processes, and applications from launch. This is a new team and the leader will be responsible for creating a highly motivated team bound by a strong culture working with other Go To Market teams on a variety of initiatives aimed to supercharge our GTM playbook.
On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
9-13 years of product development experience across multiple areas of SDLC (design to deployment)
2-4 years of experience leading a high-performing development team and managing their performances & growth management
Hands-on experience with object-oriented technologies (Java, Kotlin etc). Additional experience with front-end technologies is a plus
Experience in designing and developing integration solutions with best practices
Experience with cloud infrastructures like AWS, Azure, GCP
Experience with microservices and containerization tools like Docker etc
Working well within a multi-functional team, with a willingness to mentor developers via tech design reviews, code reviews, etc, and can also collaborate effectively on ideas and designs with some of the best architects and developers in Atlassian
Ability to drive technical and operational excellence, pushing innovation with security, reliability and quality
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with agile software development methodologies
It would be great, but not required if you have:
A passion for building highly available and large scale distributed systems
Continuous delivery and deployment
