India has nearly 60 million MSMEs and Meesho’s long term goal is to enable 100 million businesses including individual entrepreneurs to pave their paths of success online across India. With our new vision firmly in place, we intend to simplify ecommerce for all small businesses in India. This will help us build a platform which is pro-small businesses with policies and tools to help even the smallest of sellers to list and conduct business on Meesho. We are confident that this will empower small business owners to reach customers through all online channels.

Our Story

Meesho was started by Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal with the idea to enable mom & pop stores to sell online in 2016. They soon realised that their primary users were actually sellers who did not own a shop, but sold through their social network. They realised that this is how small businesses will work in the future and built a product to democratise social commerce and enable literally anyone to start their own venture. They quickly pivoted to enabling social sellers/entrepreneurs monetise their network by providing supply, logistics and payments infrastructure.

From its humble beginnings six year ago, Meesho has successfully enabled over 15M+ individual entrepreneurs to start their own online businesses with zero investment, bringing e-commerce to more than 45M+ customers across India. Till date the company has delivered orders from 100K+ registered suppliers to over 26,000 pin codes in more than 4,800 cities, generating over 500 crore in income for individual entrepreneurs and serving customers in more than 4,500 Tier 2+ cities — truly bringing e-commerce to Bharat.

Meesho is Series E funded and has raised $300 Million in a fresh round of investment led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, the world’s largest technology-focused venture capital fund. The funding round also saw participation from existing investors such as Prosus Ventures, Facebook, Shunwei Capital, Venture Highway and Knollwood Investment.The latest round of investment means that Meesho’s valuation is now at USD 2.1 billion — taking it to unicorn status.

Meesho is headquartered in Bengaluru, India and was one of the three Indian companies to be selected for Y Combinator in 2016. It was also a part of the first batch of Google Launchpad – Solve for India programme. In 2018 and 2019 (for two consecutive years), Meesho was named by LinkedIn as LinkedIn India’s Top 25 Startups – 2019 Y Combinator’s Top Companies List 2019 2021 list The World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies The Economic Times’ 40 Under 40 Fortune India’s 40 Under 40 list of entrepreneurs.

About the role:

We are looking for a Product Leader who will lead a team of PMs, SPMs and product analysts.. This is both a direct team leadership and cross-functional leadership role where you will lead your own reporting team and also influence senior stakeholders across teams such as engg., design, category management, marketing, operations, finance, etc to bring a new product to life.


● Market & Customer Understanding: Understand the reselling market and needs of resellers deeply through landscape analysis, customer interviews, user research, competition analysis and other qualitative/quantitative techniques.

● Product Vision & Strategy: Define a compelling product vision & strategy for your org, and influence other functional leaders/teams to achieve outcomes

● Problem Identification & Prioritization: Adopt a structured approach to identify what problems need to be solved and break them down into smaller chunks. Prioritize what problems need to be solved now vs. later.

● Solution Discovery: Facilitate a process to come up with the best technology-led ideas to solve the prioritized problems. Harness the creativity of not just yourself but of other teams such as design, engg., business, etc. Be willing to experiment with multiple solution ideas and test them using MVPs, prototypes, etc.

● Product Delivery: Define detailed product requirements and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team (design, engg. business, analytics, etc.) to bring a product to life. Ensure high product quality through processes such as user acceptance testing, dogfooding, etc.

● Go-to-Market Planning: Create a go-to-market plan working with business/marketing stakeholders to maximize product adoption and success.

● Adoption & Metrics: Define product metrics for your area, and track them continuously. Identify usage patterns and come up with action plans to move metrics in the right direction.

● Roadmap Creation: Create a product roadmap for your area that has atleast a 3-month forward looking view of key customer/business problems to be solved.

● Team Leadership: Lead a direct team of product managers and product analysts. Mentor and coach them to achieve product goals and improve their product management skills.

Desired Skills & Experience:


● Overall experience of 10+ yrs with at least 6+ yrs in product management in a tech-led company (consumer internet experience preferred)

● Exceptional problem solving skills based on first principles thinking

● Good understanding of technology, and comfort with product management processes such as A/B experimentation, writing product requirement documents, managing product backlogs, and creating roadmaps

● Experience of having managed a direct reporting team of product managers
