The Team

Our data team develops machine learning technologies and data platforms to improve payment and credit products based on hundreds of millions of transactions in India. This role is with the PayU India Payments team, with specific focus on the Data Stewardship for Data Intelligence @ PayU

initiative that focuses on enriching PayU Payments data for various use cases. PayU Payments data has emerged as a powerful source of information.

You will be able to help shape the data-based efforts such as AI and Data Intelligence initiatives at PayU in India and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Product Manager for the Data Stewardship for Data Intelligence @ PayU PayU’s Data Quality and Enrichment Program

Work with all facets of the organization to Deliver data enrichment and quality improvement initiatives as defined, agreed and prioritized

Business Ownership cum Data Specialist role which focusses on getting the most from data, ensuring data is efficiently and effectively captured, processed, stored and disposed off

Build positive relationships with Technology, Product, Operations, Information Security Office partners to ensure that the Data Stewardship Program KPIs are met

Engage and utilize the Data Stewardship framework to prioritize issues, agree definitions and raise the visibility of data quality

Shape the creation, testing and refinement of Data Quality and Enrichment requirements, covering the full customer and merchant lifecycle through the PayU Payment Gateway

Establish & maintain Data Quality Scorecards to pro-actively monitor and report on data quality

Drive data quality issue management, which will involve supporting cross functional teams to implement necessary structure within their businesses

Requirements to be successful in this role:

7+ years’ experience in developing and implementing Data Quality & Enrichment programs, ideally within Financial Services or a regulated business

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, MIS, or Information Management or related quantitative fields

Experience working with business and technical project stakeholders to translate business requirements into data imperatives

Change Leadership skills, able to set an agenda and convince others to follow a proven ability to influence people and challenge the status-quo

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (for external use as well as internal liaison and influencing)

Relevant technical knowledge spanning Data Quality/Profiling and Data Management processes with the ability to identify technology solutions

Excellent analytical skills with ability to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goals

Experience of creating reports and dealing with large volumes of data.

Data Literacy & SQL and Python or R skills with the ability to work with less data literate stakeholders to achieve required outcomes

Experience of developing data profiling routines and data quality scorecards

Good to have: Recognized data quality certification e.g. IQCP, CIMP, ISO 8000
