The Network Infrastructure Deployment team within CSCP, delivers the hyper-scale, low latency, high reliability network connecting customers around the globe to the rapidly growing Microsoft Cloud. As part of the Cloud and AI organization, we support the needs of more than 200 Microsoft online services, including Bing, Office 365, SharePoint, Skype, OneDrive and several hundred thousand customers using Azure to host and run their Cloud Services in over 100 datacenters, running millions of servers and edge computing nodes all over the world. We are looking for a Program Manager, to contribute and execute on strategies to deliver Cloud network infrastructure along with the related technologies to support data center capacity demands at scale in a dynamic, fast paced environment. You will coordinate with stakeholders to deploy greenfield and brownfield network infrastructure and decommission the infrastructure at the end of lifecycle of the infrastructure/equipment. You will need to understand the product/program lifecycle and will apply data analysis insights and knowledge of constraints across the delivery process and ecosystem to recommend process and/or design improvements that ensure delivery of capacity to end customers on time and enabling hyperscale cloud network deployments.
Primary responsibility is to support large scale network infrastructure deployment projects required to enable new cloud capacity, leveraging knowledge of formal program management methodologies, creating, and executing program plans, defining, and controlling project scope, as well as maintaining and reporting out on schedules.
Responsible for end-to-end deployment lifecycle, carefully balancing delivery quality and managing priorities, taking corrective actions as necessary to meet stated business objectives.
Engage stakeholders with outstanding communication, data analysis & visualizations, problem solving, analytical and project management skills
Requires continuous successful collaboration with Network Planning, Datacenter Engineering, Execution and Operations, Supply Chain as well as Network Engineering teams and effectively building relationships with a wide range of influencers and cultivating strategic relationships globally.
Drive continuous improvement of deployment processes, including assessment of project delivery capabilities, gathering, and reporting performance metrics, establishing corresponding targets, measurement of on-going progress
Good understanding of operations management and experience in large scale program/project delivery
Good technical problem solving, analytical and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements
Ability to make pragmatic business and project/program/engineering tradeoffs to deliver business value
Demonstrated leadership and exceptional cross-team skills
Excellent data, analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Very good use of MS office Excel, Microsoft Project, power-bi, SQL and strong of scripting skills
Preferred qualifications :
2-4 years’ industry experience (Telecommunications, large service provider experience)
Well versed in data visualization leveraging Kusto, Excel, Power bi to drive data driven discussions.
Expertise in deployment of high-performance, highly available, large scale distributed network and related technologies, preferably in tier one cloud provider datacenters
Good networking experience and understanding of network infrastructure, routing, data center architectures, Internet transport protocols and optical networking concepts.
Knowledge of supply chain management, procurement processes, trade restrictions and associated financial and project controls
Understanding of process re-engineering and software development lifecycle, including gathering, analyzing, and defining business and functional requirements; creating global metrics, trend charts and other decision-making tools
Knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure and datacenter and the use of scripting languages like XML, JSON, python, perl etc
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
Six Sigma / Lean certified preferred
BS in Engineering or Computer Science or higher
Relevant Industry work experience in deploying and optimizing large scale service infrastructure
Proficiency in systems operations and computing technologies
Very good use of MS office Excel, Microsoft Project, power-bi, Kusto, SQL etc.
