Expedia Global Payments (EGP) is looking for top engineering talent to help drive the development of our payment’s platforms. Our services are the nexus of a globally distributed system that spans many organizations, processes $100B annually in more than 35 currencies across the globe. Our roadmap is deep and contains several innovative programs designed to make our services fault-tolerant, reduce the cost of payment processing, and improve both our customers (travelers) and partners (hotels, airlines, etc.) experience.
More specifically, you will lead a team developing key components of an innovative, generic Payment Module uniquely designed to support sophisticated payment scenarios. We want to offer travelers the simplest and most reliable experience while they are paying for carefully crafted itineraries. We will make this capability easy to adopt and seamlessly integrate into any travel partners checkout page with intelligent adaptive and dynamic feature set.
What you’ll do:
Hire and develop top talent as well as participate in hiring with other teams
Provide mentorship on all relevant competencies for engineers
Act as a catalyst to drive your staff’s career development by providing feedback, coaching and finding opportunities within and outside of your team
Drive your team to innovate and deliver roadmap features with agility and high quality
Perform reviews of all designs to make sure that they address failure modes, scalability, security and are suitable for tier 1 services.
Cross-collaborate with product and program management team to maintain a roadmap for your team.
Provide tier 3 operational support for the services you own. This includes providing an on-call rotation and incident response to resolve issues.
Make improvements to your services through disciplined review of operational metrics, root cause analysis of anomalies, and appropriate corrective actions.
Who are you:
3+ years management experience in a software development environment leading engineering teams.
8+ years software development work experience (Java experience strongly preferred).
Experience in full stack web application development and associated skills (HTTP, SOAP, REST, web services, etc.) in a high-stakes environment.
Experience working on UI Applications and Frameworks.
Solid experience of software development technologies, techniques, and phases – Estimation, Scheduling, Design, Development, Testing and Delivery, and Maintenance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including ability to build consensus across the enterprise.
Self-motivated, able to deal with ambiguity and pressure to deliver
Passion for developing people to meet their career goals, combined with effective performance management
A BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
