As Staff Engineer, get ready to drive end-to-end engineering excellence across scrum teams and product groups.
The Staff Engineer serves as a key technical leader on the Global Commercial Services team, you will work with engineers and Engineer Directors to drive engineering excellence, you will be responsible to define the technology approach, you will face unique technological challenges, you will grow with the teams and with the business by being exposed to unique challenges and opportunities.
You must be a self-starter; you must be passionate about learning and using new technologies while being under pressure! You will mentor the engineers learn new technologies on a daily basis, and partner with the business teams to ensure technology changes impact customers in a positive way. Staff Engineer. – Roles & Responsibilities
Own and drive engineering excellence and consistency across scrum teams and products.
Be the technical expert, leader and mentor for the scrum teams.
Work with Directors from Product and technology to deliver product goals on time.
Drive transition of GCS architecture to public cloud (AWS / Azure)
Implement and drive adoption of best practices in devops, observability, cloud architecture, security.
Lead with ?Automation mind-set??- Eliminate repetitive manual process by developing necessary tools
Lead with ?Simplication mind-set??Eliminate unnecessary architecture complexity.
Guide scrum teams on cloud infrastructure design principles to help them design reliable & resilient solutions as per SLOs
Understand platform roadmap and contribute to the platform strategy initiatives.
Demonstrate reliance to achieve team goals
Influence team members with creative changes and improvements, challenge status quo and demonstrate taking risks.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency of the team by analyzing existing workflow, driving the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results.
Mentor and guide junior team members to success within the team
Excellent communication & co-ordination skills
Proven ability to manage critical production issues and collaborate with teams to restore service.
Significant experience in software engineering.
Proven experience in a technical leader role, you lead with technical credibility and by exercising influence and building trust.
Expert on Software Development practices, Agile/SCRUM, Pair Programming.
Experience in working with large distributed teams in a highly dynamic environment.

You solve complex problems with a highly analytical approach.
You learn from mistakes and help your team to take risk and learn from their mistakes.
You’re excellent at understanding competing priorities.
You can build trust with and inspire your team.
Expert on cloud native Java or similar (Golang or .NET core knowledge is a plus)
Expert on applying DevOps and SRE on large engineering teams.
Expert on public cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
Knowledge on DevSecOps in the context of Financial Services is a plus.
