The LinkedIn Data Technical Program Management Group is looking for a Staff level Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team to drive cutting-edge improvements to our Big Data team. The TPM will be responsible for driving the long-term strategy and architecture vision of the complex and diverse core infrastructure components maintained by the org. The LinkedIn TPM role is highly diversified and includes initiating, planning, and executing intermediate to large scale, cross-functional, and company-wide programs. The successful candidate will have a solid track record of program and project management and will have demonstrated excellent leadership, along with superior organizational and communication skills.

Our Data TPM Group is part of LinkedIn’s Data organization, which consists of over 1300 people who design and build the massive-scale distributed data platforms, recommendation and search technologies, and analytical tools on which all of LinkedIn’s applications depend. We also contribute to the technical community by open-sourcing our latest technologies.


Work with Compliance Engineering, Trust, Legal, Information Security, and clients of LinkedIn’s compliance platforms
Managing the response to any compliance incidents on LinkedIn’s compliance monitoring platform.
Support multiple cross-functional technical teams to deliver their objectives on fast-paced and complex programs and projects
Develop strong partnerships with engineering and product management leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical program objectives
Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure program success
Drive teams and individuals in planning and executing roadmaps, releases, and work backlogs
Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths
Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver
Create a collaborative work environment that fosters shared understanding, transparency, mastery, autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning
Report on project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans
Coach and mentor others in the best practices of modern planning and execution

Basic Qualifications:
10+ years professional experience in an engineering or technical team, of which at least 5+ years are managing very large technical programs/projects.
B.S./B.A. degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated success managing multiple major and concurrent programs.
Prior experience driving the development of massive-scale distributed data platforms, recommendation and search technologies, big data pipelines, and/or analytical tools.
Significant experience working with software engineering leadership, technical teams, and individual contributors.
Passion about being an indispensable part of a great product.
Ability to communicate authoritatively at a sufficient technical depth.
Passion to learn new concepts and technologies.
Ability to build collaborations and create a community of leaders.
Agile coaching and practitioner experience (Scrum, Kanban) with multiple teams.
Experience in managing all phases of end-to-end product development.
Knowledge of Internet client/server social networking applications and systems.
Knowledge of Big Data applications and platforms.
Hands-on software development experience.
