You will be working on security initiatives and are responsible to drive and implement solutions from security perspective including but not limited to building tools, implementation of strategic initiatives within engineering teams, driving and governance of security processes.
You will be required to deeply understand technology landscapes, and evaluate the use of new technologies. You will be influential within your team and work with peers and senior leaders to define and revise the standards for operational excellence across Amazon pay. You will consistently tackle abstract issues that span multiple functional areas and drive your team to push for improvements that can scale across other teams, services, and platforms.
We’d love it if you bring in a deep understanding of modern Cloud infrastructure, programming expertise, operational experience, and a desire to change the status quo. We’ll support you with robust backend systems, mature processes, and a motivated team with a strong desire to improve customer experience. We’re looking for an engineer who can analyse and help improve our monitoring and processes to get us to an even higher level of availability, scalability, and reliability.

Â· You are an engineer with computer science background or equivalent degree.
Â· You have experience in DevOps and SRE ecosystem
Â· You have passion in information security (incl. Application security)
Â· You have experience in implementing, configuring and building monitoring systems
Â· You have proven experience in incident, problem and change management practices and handled high impact incidents.
Â· You serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our technology products.
Â· You have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining monitoring and alerting to improve performance and reliability.
Â· You are a team player working closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with ”operability” in mind.
You have passion and sense-of-urgency in handling high impact incidents by triaging and addressing production issues
Â· You bring in 7+ years??experience in a highly technical support role, preferably in a software environment with Java/J2EE troubleshooting experience
Â· In-depth understanding of AWS, Python and Scripting languages
Â· Good understanding of application security concepts
Â· Familiarity with database concepts (e.g., Redshift, DynamoDB or Postgres)
Â· Well rounded experience with monitoring systems, dashboards (ELK, Splunk, Job Schedulers)
Â· Strong degree of empathy for the customer experience
Â· Proven ability to deescalate difficult situations with customers, while multi-tasking between tickets and mentoring your team
Â· Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor other engineers to grow their technical and troubleshooting skills.
